Cammach Recruitment were struggling to choose just one local charity to support in the 12 months ahead so we have decided to choose a person, group of people or organisation per month in the local Aberdeen community that we could make a difference to.
Within Cammach Recruitment we are all very aware of how lucky we are to be surrounded with good friends, family and working in a job we enjoy. 12 wishes is our way of directly helping others who are not so fortunate.
We hope that a small act of kindness can make their wish come true.
If you would like to nominate someone who could do with a bit of help, please contact us on 01224 894444 and we will do our best. Or if you are a local business that would like to offer a small gesture, we would be delighted to hear from you.
Some examples of what we have done to date are listed below;
A huge thank you to the Copthorne Hotel who kindly gifted us a bar lunch for an elderly lady called Marlene who stays in a local nursing home. A very sociable lady who enjoys shopping and eating out. A meal may seem insignificant but, sometimes little things can mean a great deal – we had a lovely lunch.
For November, we were delighted to visit Scott Baxter at the Aberdeen Cyrenians and make a food and clothing donation on behalf of Cammach Recruitment. It was great to learn about the reach and impact that Aberdeen Cyrenians have in the Aberdeen community.
Wish 3 (Since its Christmas and we couldn’t choose just one)
Elf for a day. Our Recruitment Director Leanne McDonald helped at the Instant Neighbour Giving Tree volunteer session by sorting out presents ready for the children of Aberdeen.
We also visited Northcote Lodge with mince pies to be enjoyed during their carol service.
A very small donation of some pyjamas was made to the Mission Christmas campaign.
A huge thank you to Naz from Breakneck Comedy who gifted us two tickets for a comedy show. Cammach Recrutiment gave these tickets to a contractor that is known to us that repeatedly goes above and beyond to help people and cosistently recieves positive client feedback. Thank you Mark!
In the latest installment of our initiative, we had the pleasue of hosting an evening session on ‘first jobs’ for the Girl Guides based in Bridge of Don. We enjoyed working with them and were very impressed by the girls team work, presentations and problem serving.
It was a walk down memory lane for Jordan Rowson our Business Development Manager when he visited his former school last Friday, Oldmachar Academy. He met with the higher Business Management pupils to deliver a session on social responsibility. This is a new topic that has been recently added to the course curriculum and Cammach Recruitment were contacted by the school to see if we could provide some live examples as to how this is important in business today. We now plan to do this annually and we are also in discussions about others way in which we can help the pupils…watch this space!
As part of our 12 wishes campaign, we supported the C-Change Dragons Den event. Six of the people C-Change Aberdeen work for pitched their small business ideas to our 3 Dragon’s The Dragon’s were Claire Garden (EnQuest), Martin Kasprowicz (Aberdeen City Council) and Jordan Rowson (Cammach Recruitment). The advice, assistance and feedback from the judges was very well received and the offers of help very welcome. One of the highlights of the day was the impact and the impressions the people we work with. Their personalities, gifts and skills shone through. Well done to C-Change!
In addition to delivering coffee and cupcakes across Aberdeen weekly, we will be collecting donations for Children First and their ‘Raise A Smile’ campaign. If you would like us to visit you please call Donna Liddle on 01224 894444.
A huge thank you to Macdonald Norwood Hall Hotel for your donation of afternoon tea for two ladies at Ruthrie Court. The ladies were delighted and we are really appreciative of your support.
At the end of last year, a local Aberdeen lad who is a friend of Cammach Recruitment was diagnosed with a brain tumour. He has gone through a biopsy and 6 weeks of radiotherapy and is currently on medication, waiting for a clinical trial to open up.
Since October, he has been through so much. We are looking to raise funds to help make this time more enjoyable whilst he is going through interim treatment and waits for the next step of treatment to help battle this illness. He is going on a much needed family holiday in June and would like to take his little sister to Disneyland, Paris.
Any monies raised will go towards making a young lad very happy. Anything left over will be kept aside should it be required for a clinical trial not funded by the NHS. If it is not required for this it will then be donated to Brain Tumour Research.
Any donations would be very much apprecaited https://crowdfunding.justgiving.com/joanne-macangus?utm_id=2&utm_term=bdbr5Pzwa
Cammach Recruitment are offering companies the opportunity to display literature at our Business Development event in June for £20 which we will donate and we will also be collecting donations when doing our client gifted coffee and cupcakes on a Friday afternoon throughout this month.
Our Business Development Manager Jordan has volunteered to be a Business Advisor for the Oldmachar Academy Young Enterprise team. Jordan will be offering advice and experience to the group of budding entrepreneurs as they set up their own small business.
Further updates to follow on this!
We are trying to support a local lad raise money in an enterprising fashion to buy a mushroom pommel. A great learning experience and we love his enthusiasm. We used our contacts and social media and Buy Local have kindly introduced his page to a gymnastic group in Bridge of Don who would be the perfect target audience for his parallettes. We look forward to hearing how Finlay gets on.
