Assistant Engineer (Graduate)

Our client is looking for an Assistant Engineer for a 6 month contract position, located in Aberdeen. This is an ideal position for a recent engineering graduate.

Responsible for supporting Project Managers and Team Leads to ensure that the projects are delivered in a timely, cost efficient manner and to the company’s high quality.


  • Provide support to Team Leads on projects

  • Review client documentation (PID, Performance Standards etc.), extract required information and report on findings

  • Provide project management assistance to the Team on assigned project

  • Perform data-entry, documentation, printing, filling and referencing duties

  • Record, store and manipulate data in excel and access

  • Maintain databases and registers for the department / Project as instructed

  • Perform some research duties as and when required by the team

  • Assist on any ad-hoc tasks as required


Knowledge and Skills:

  • Advanced user in Microsoft Excel and competent in other Microsoft products

  • Proven ability to write reports and format documents

  • Excellent team working skills

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills

  • A knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as SAP and Maximo

  • Client facing experience

  • Team lead experience

  • Use of MS Project

  • Use of document management systems

  • Hands on equipment maintenance experience



  • BSc Degree in Engineer Computer Science, Math, Statistics or Engineering



  • Basic understanding of the Oil & Gas Industry
