Key Account Manager

Our Client is looking for a Key Account Manager, on a permanent staff basis, location in Aberdeen

To develop, maintain and expand the sales opportunities and profile of the company in Eastern Region and globally where opportunities arise within key account, and to promote and enhance continuing sales and after sales support throughout the clients operational bases.  To maintain an understanding and awareness of clients on a global basis to air in harmonisation of legal, contractual, quality and technical specifications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This includes but is not limited to:



  • Developing and exploiting sales opportunities and maintaining a high Company profile

  • Attending customer meetings and maintaining regular and frequent customer contact

  • Preparing and conducting presentations to customers either at the company or customer premises

  • Maintaining full awareness and thorough understanding of Company products and literature

  • Producing market intelligence, forecast (CRM) and budget information relevant to served customers

  • Providing a consolidated monthly sales and activity report for the served accounts and completing DQ and competitor installation history (market activity) database as required by management

  • Assisting and advising with preparation of tender documentation

  • Assisting and advising in creation and review of sales orders

  • Frequently liaising with other departments, primarily Inside Sales, Service and Engineering pertinent to day to day operations and orders in hand

  • Be prepared to travel on an ad-hoc basis to customers in the UK and elsewhere as and when required

  • Acquiring and maintaining sound financial and commercial awareness of all aspects of general activity and client requirements in the served customers in the region and elsewhere

  • Maintaining an accurate record system of the customer base to include sales results, enquiries and developments on a global basis, disseminating information through the regional Sales Manager

  • Working with clients corporate personnel on harmonising legal and contractual terms and conditions

  • Working with clients corporate personnel on harmonising quality and technical specifications

  • Attending and assisting with relevant industry trade shows

  • Assisting in coordinating any company customer events approved by Senior Management

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

Essential:



  • HNC; time served apprenticeship or equivalent in an Engineering discipline

  • Strong sales experience in the Oil and Gas industry dealing with Oil Companies, Drilling Contractors, Drilling Consultants and Engineering Houses

  • Good time management skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong commercial awareness

  • Good general IT skills

  • Valid UK driving licence

  • Ability and willingness to travel overseas as required


 


Preferred:



  • HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline

  • Extensive sales management experience with good overall product knowledge ideally gained with a competitor

  • Engineering or backgroundPrevious exposure to surface and subsea wellhead products as well as general drilling and production practices
